Aztec statues and rattle snakes!

With the help of my friend Lorna Gray (who designed the cover for Heronfield) I am just beginning the task of creating a cover for my new novel – The Guardians.  As part of this I am presently immersed in pictures of Aztec statues and rattle snakes?  Intrigued?  Watch this space!

You can read the Prologue to The Guardians here.

If it’s news – Shout It Out!

Shout It Out!

Heronfield can now be found on the Shout It Out website
To find it just look under the Historical Fiction section in the books category (for some reason they don’t seem to do a direct link at the moment!)
It is great to see my book appearing in more and more places. Hopefully that will lead to more and more readers 😉

Five Star review on Amazon

I have just got my first long awaited review on Amazon – and it has 5 stars!

Thank you so much C Pankhurst.

A gripping plot with authentic historical interest

Heronfield combines a real feel for the period in which it is set, with a compelling pace and structure which make it a pleasure to read. The characters and their lives are convincingly drawn, and the dialogue has an authentic ring. The range of characters, with their different lives and perspectives is impressive. Several strands are developed, with the central plot growing interestingly and gripping the attention. A thoroughly interesting and enjoyable read.

Would you like to write a review?

First of all, apologies for it being so long since my last post. It has been high season here in India and so very busy at our Lakeside Resort and running our South India Tours. Things are slowing down a little now so that, in a few weeks, I’ll be able to get back to writing!

I notice that while I’ve been away many people have purchased copies of Heronfield. Thank you for your confidence in my writing. It would be lovely if you could find the time to post a review on the site you purchased from, or even here. I would very much like to hear your views to help me develop my writing further.

Let’s hope that now business is moving into the quiet period I’ll be able to get back to regular blogging!

Hands on – my first print copy of Heronfield

I’m back in the UK for a couple of weeks and have at last been able to get my hands on a copy of Heronfield. It feels so good to be able to hold it and read it for myself. Sometimes I have to pinch myself to see if it is really here at last!

Experiment in social media

I’m trying a new experiment in social media – tweeting a ‘real-time-crime’ story live as it happens.

The story starts with a murder tonight at 9.30 (UK time) and ends with a real event on a real date early in September.

It’s a challenge to get the characters and tell the whole story in 140 character bites.  Do let me know what you think!

You can read the story at www.twitter.com/InspectorNash You don’t need a Twitter account to follow the story!
